As an integral part of the UAMS Cardiac Surgery team, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant works collaboratively with the attending physicians to ensure continuity of care for Cardiac Surgery patients. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant helps plan, implement, and evaluate health care treatments. The Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant will be responsible for rounding on inpatients admitted to the cardiac surgery team as well as providing patient consultations for the cardiac surgery service. The PRN position will require a minimum of 1 weekend per month of coverage, with opportunities for additional coverage needs as they may arise. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: APRNs: Master’s Degree in nursing Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Certification 3 years nursing experience Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire. Utilizes knowledge and expertise when planning long and short-term care, including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments as needed.
