Benefits Analyst - Pension and 401K at Valero

As a Benefits Analyst  you will under direct supervision, assists in the daily administration of the Company’s financial benefits. You can help achieve this goal if you can: Maintain working knowledge of and researches data from different sources to determine benefits information. Calculate and communicates benefits to current and former employees. Assist in the development of company’s financial benefits plan design and implementation for existing and acquired financial benefit plans. Develop and generate plan reports and ad-hoc reports for mandated regulatory testing. Act as the liaison between employees and the plans’ record keepers. Research and resolve Payroll, system interface, and other plan issues as needed. Participate in financial benefit related projects. Prepare and communicate information regarding financial benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures. Analyze and evaluate services, coverage, and options available to determine programs best meeting needs of organization. Provide customer service and answers financial benefit questions regarding enrollment, contribution changes, funds available, loans, and financial hardship. Resolve problems related to access to or payment of benefits. Explain the consequences of choices made by plan participants. Coordinate transfer of data to external record keepers/vendors, plan providers, auditors, and consultants by processing of employee payroll. Prepare or provide data for government-mandated reports. Assist in preparation and coordination of audits of financial benefit plans for compliance with government regulations. Maintain expert knowledge of and analyzes government regulations, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations. Audit financial benefit plans for compliance and government regulations. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED required Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1 year of professional-level Human Resources experience preferred. Experience in financial benefits and administering financial benefits preferred.
