Department: AREC | Maintenance Support Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: This position is responsible for general cleaning of areas in and around office buildings and laboratories, conference rooms, building common areas, grounds around these buildings and other areas as required. The job duties will include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, and emptying small office trash cans as well as large trash cans. This position will be responsible for using carpet and floor cleaning equipment. The custodial worker will be responsible for cleaning commodes, sinks, water fountains, etc. This position will also be responsible for snow/ice removal during winter months. This position will have a regular defined work schedule; however, on occasional event days this position will adjust work hours to fit the event. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
