Hours of Work : Days Of Week : Work Shift : Job Description : Job Purpose: Responsible for the operations and management of the MMMC Cardiology and IR departments and for leading the planning and organizing of their strategic direction. Will help to ensure the delivery of quality patient care while improving standards of care delivery, standards of practice and fiscal stewardship. Ensure competence and education of staff, maintain and promote clinical management competency and professional growth in the work environment. Accept responsibility to develop and maintain positive physician, customer/patient and inter-departmental relationships. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred): Appropriate clinical background (R.N., R.T., R.R.T.) maintaining current Registry/Certification and Texas License status Related Work Experience and Other Skills: Computer literate including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Experience having responsibility for capital budget in excess of $1 million, operational budgets in excess of $500,000 annually. Must demonstrate proficiency in writing business proposals, pro formas, etc. Job Roles Duty 1: Develops and implements Cardiology, Respiratory, and IR business development and strategic plans in conjunction with Methodist Health System and appropriate section strategic initiatives and goals. Duty 2: Ensures development and implementation of appropriate systems and processes to facilitate optimal operations, high quality patient care, patient throughput, and flow of information. Duty 3: Establishes and maintains professional relationships with the appropriate physicians, Medical Directors, peers, and associates both internal and external to the organization. Works collaboratively with such individuals when addressing clinical practice, quality improvement, operational and planning issues concerning Cardiology, Respiratory, and IR departments. Duty 4: Develops operational and capital budgets for all areas of Cardiology and IR Services. Assures areas operate within budgetary guidelines in a cost effective manner. Effectively and accurately justifies, quantifies, and explains any variances in salary, inventory, and other operational budgets. Duty 5: In conjunction with the Medical Director, appropriate departmental management teams, and clinical personnel, assures compliance with external regulatory and accrediting agencies. Duty 6: Recruits, hires, and coaches leadership team members (manager, supervisors and clinical coordinators). Oversees human resources issues and processes, staff recruitment, retention, staff engagement, and developmental needs. Duty 7: Oversees the processes required that will enable Cardiology and IR Services to participate in research and investigational study initiatives. Duty 8: Maintains a constructive and collaborative relationship with other MHS departments. Other duties as assigned.
