The Engineering Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the hotel's in-house laundry facility while ensuring all laundry equipment, mechanical systems, and electrical components operate safely and efficiently. This hands-on leadership role supervises the laundry team, maintains equipment reliability, supports preventative maintenance initiatives, and actively assists with laundry production as needed to meet operational demands. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical manuals. Repair or replace mechanical components including bearings, belts, pulleys, gears, chains, valves, and pumps. Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment performance, and operational reliability. Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical, mechanical, and safety regulations. Safety & Compliance Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed when servicing equipment. Monitor chemical handling, storage, and dispensing processes. Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of workplace safety. Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and hotel safety standards. Inventory & Budget Control Monitor inventory levels for laundry supplies, maintenance parts, and operational consumables. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school certification, vocational training, or associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial laundry, hotel engineering, industrial maintenance, or related operations. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Experience maintaining industrial laundry equipment strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment and perform repairs independently. Understanding of preventative maintenance practices. Knowledge of motors, pumps, controls, electrical components, and industrial machinery. Ability to read electrical schematics and maintenance manuals.
