As part of our Waste sector, you’ll help shape solid waste infrastructure and environmental stewardship. Primary Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide environmental complaince support for Alaska solid waste projects but could also be assigned to projects in other market sectors in and outside of Alaska. Specific responsibilities will include: Conduct field work: groundwater sampling,surface water sampling, and landfill gas monitoring and sampling. Support solid waste permit applications, including writing and reviewing technical work products (environmentat documents and technical studies). Work with project managers, clients, and subject matter experts for permitting needs. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to exemplary quality standards for professional practice and deliverables. Candidates must have field work experience and be able to work safely and efficiently in remote outdoor settings in Alaska under a variety of weather conditions. Candidates must be able to work cooperatively with professionals from other disciplines, clients, project managers, business development professionals, and operational leadership. This is a full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska. Preferred Qualifications 2 to 5 years environmental permitting and/or compliance experience in Alaska Experience with field sampling, monitoring, solid waste/landfill, and air quality Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements Excellent writing and communication skills MS Office experience An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
