Your Role at KIK The Forklift Operator 2 nd Shift 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm – Monday – Friday with some weekends per business need is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, unloading and organizing materials within the manufacturing plant. This position operates in a chemical manufacturing environment and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hazardous material handling procedures, and company safety policies. This position has a base starting hourly rate of $26.00 per hour. Shift differentials apply in addition to the base rate:
.50 per hour for second shift. What You’ll Do The Forklift Operator supports daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of production orders, including the movement and storage of materials. Inspect products and material components for quality, accuracy, weight and defects before delivering raw material to the production line. Verify correct product and quantities that are used for each production run. Coordinate with the Press Operator on the handling and distribution of materials in each tableting run. Move pallets, super sacks, and other manufacturing materials throughout the facility. Pull production, participate in inventory counts and material reconciliation activities as assigned. Complete production, quality, material weights, usage data, and inventory documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Perform and complete the Daily Forklift Inspection Form. Follow all safety procedures regarding hazardous chemicals, personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout, and emergency response. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. Assist other Operators as needed. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor. What You’ll Bring High school diploma or GED required. One or more years of forklift experience. Any lift type is acceptable — sit-down, stand-up, reach, or order picker. A current forklift certification is not required to apply. KIK provides forklift certification upon hire. Experience operating forklifts around raw materials, super sacks, palletized materials, and shrink-wrapped pallets. (Preferred) Manufacturing, warehouse, agricultural, or industrial experience — any of these backgrounds is acceptable. (Preferred) Experience operating farm equipment such as tractors or combines, which is considered transferable to this role. (Preferred) Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to call-outs as required to support continuous manufacturing operations. Ability to safely wear respiratory protective equipment for extended periods while performing assigned job duties. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, established procedures, work rules, and company standards. Ability to perform basic math calculations and complete production records. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work safely around chemicals and manufacturing equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a physical examination, functional capacity assessment, and drug screening. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and manufacturing environments. Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
