NBC6 is looking for an Associate Producer for South Florida Live. In this Lifestyle show, you will be an integral part of covering lifestyle news that highlights our South Florida events, culture and community related stories.   Responsibilities: Working with Executive Producer and Producers to produce daily South Florida Live program  Assisting with the coordination of elements for daily lifestlye program  Writing copy for daily segments  Being resourceful and creative in helping to deliver the program’s message, including use of clips and graphics  Finding background information on a wide range of lifestyle and community news stories using a variety of sources such as the internet, newspapers and magazines  Researching segment ideas and segment information as directed  Assisting in the booking of guests  Assisting producers with story production and pre-interviews  Creating graphics & triggering these elements daily in the control room. Being part of a collaborative team that supports production of other lifestyle and community programming Supporting production of assets to be used across all platforms and channels Supporting news in times of major breaking news Bachelor’s degree in journalism; or an equivalent degree   At least 2 years of television production experience  Experience with independently developing own story ideas, conducting research, and planning show segments  Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including possible weekends. Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice, if needed.  Eligibility Requirements: Must be willing to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends) and report to work in emergencies depending upon news coverage when necessary Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be 18 years or older Must be willing to work in Miami, FL and travel as needed for special assignments Must have a valid driver’s license Desired Characteristics: Exceptional editorial skills: ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television  Knowledge of current events, community, lifestyle and pop culture  Highly organized and detail-oriented  Strong analytical skills  Exemplary interpersonal skills  Ability to work collaboratively with other lifestyle shows, news, across functions and levels  Proactive thinker / self-starter  Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines under pressure  As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
