This entry-level role works closely with senior engineers to develop custom automation solutions, contribute to project success, and build technical skills in a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates have a Mechanical Engineering degree and 1-3 years of experience or relevant internship/co-op experience. How You’ll Make an Impact: Support the design and development of custom automation equipment and mechanical systems based on customer and project requirements. Create and modify CAD models, assemblies, and drawings under the guidance of senior engineers. Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions. Assist with prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting activities. Document design changes, test results, and project updates to support project execution. Work with internal teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements. Support the selection and specification of purchased components by researching options and coordinating with vendors. Apply standard engineering principles, procedures, and design practices to assigned tasks. Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and project teams. Assist with machine commissioning, validation, and problem-solving activities as needed. Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and other project stakeholders. Develop technical knowledge and engineering skills through hands-on project experience, training, and mentorship. Contribute to project and team objectives while working in a collaborative environment. Travel up to 20% as required to support project and customer needs. What You’ll Bring: 1-3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer Experienced with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline Associates degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC) Has a primarily academic knowledge of a subset of the engineering discipline principles, practices, and procedures. Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
