HDR has an exceptional opportunity for an Area Power Sector Leader in our New York/New Jersey Area Resources Business Group.  HDR’s NY/NJ Area Power Sector supports a wide variety of projects from power delivery to offshore wind and other renewables. This is primarily an operational position ensuring we are providing timely and quality services on projects to our clients, on schedule and on budget, while meeting HDR internal financial goals. This role will also include setting a vision for the group as a whole and working with Power Sector senior leadership and managers/staff in achieving growth objectives and promoting the success of the Area Power Sector.  The individual in this position will still function as a Project Principal and/or Project Manager while also taking on management responsibilities for the NY/NJ Area Power Sector. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: In the role of NY/NJ Area Resources Power Sector Leader, your duties and responsibilities will include: Being responsible for growing, monitoring, and participating in the execution of HDR’s portfolio of Power services in NY/NJ Partnering with local and regional business development leaders to position ahead of market trends and implement strategies to diversify work and grow client relationships. Identifying and pursuing opportunities to deliver a variety of services including but not limited to design, consulting, advisory services, owners engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning. Clients may include power utilities, cooperatives, energy developers, industrial and technology companies. Support senior leadership in setting the vision for Area Power Sector and direction for implementation of HDR’s goal to expand and provide services associated with the power markets in the NY/NJ Area Support Area Resources Business Group Manager in meeting goals and alignment with overall strategies and vision Support, as needed, area business development activities including strategic planning, annual and long-term goals, client development, community and industry participation, project pursuits, and staffing Participate in Area Power Sector strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation Assist Area Resources Business Group Manager, as needed, with daily operations such as project oversight, management reviews, quality control, and financial elements for the Area Power Sector Routinely convey required information and provide status updates to area management on activities ongoing within the Power Sector Act as the liaison for the sections in gaining required approvals (e.g., promotions, training, salary increases) from the area management Monitor the group’s key performance indicators and implement any necessary actions for improvement #LI-JC7 (Note: Required Qualifications are defaulted based on the Job Code selected and can't be edited.) Preferred Qualifications: PE license PMP Certification Ability to travel for client and project meetings (up to 25%), meeting with staff in local offices, and regional meetings with key Power Market Sector leadership Candidates who reside locally in the NY/NJ area are preferred. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field A minimum of 10 years of industry experience Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers Demonstrated commitment to HDR values.
