Oracle Database Contractor (Advantage Support) Location: Los Angeles, CA – local strongly preferred LinkedIn with profile photo and must be created before 2020 Primary Responsibilities Operational Support: Provide ongoing day-to-day administration and operational support for Advantage Oracle databases. Database Provisioning: Handle new database provisioning and routine administrative requests. Shift & On-Call Coverage: Establish consistent late-shift coverage and strengthen the overall on-call support rotation. Batch & After-Hours Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to incidents related to critical business functions, after-hours requests, and batch processing cycles. Required Skill Set & Qualifications Experience & Core Expertise 7 years of proven Oracle Database Administration (DBA) experience. Database Versions & Architecture: Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c and multitenant architecture, including managing, provisioning, and performing PDB refreshes. Oracle Tools & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience working with Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM (Automatic Storage Management), and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Backup & Recovery: Extensive experience performing Backup and Recovery operations using RMAN. Performance Tuning (Key Requirement): Strong expertise in performance troubleshooting, bottleneck analysis, and database optimization. Scripting: Proficiency in shell scripting to support automation, maintenance, and operational tasks. Operational Readiness Incident Response: Strong ability to monitor databases, troubleshoot issues, and provide rapid incident response in a mission-critical environment. Batch Processing Support: Experience monitoring and supporting critical batch cycles and scheduled jobs. Flexible Availability: Must be able to work late shifts. Self-Sufficiency: Ability to handle daily operational maintenance independently to relieve the workload and strain on the existing permanent team.
