Part Time Truck Driver at Emerson

You will play an important role in maintaining operational excellence by following safety standards, verifying shipments, and supporting material handling activities across the facility. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Safely operate a box truck to transport materials to and from designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety requirements. Load, unload, move, and store materials using a forklift and manual material handling techniques as needed. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe operating conditions and promptly reporting any concerns. Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, receipts, shipping documentation, and other required transportation records. Verify shipment accuracy by comparing materials to bills of lading, invoices, and vendor documentation, and securely transport cargo to prevent damage. Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding delivery schedules, route updates, shipment status, and operational needs. Support warehouse and logistics operations when not driving, including housekeeping, packaging orders, internal material movement, and assisting Shipping and Receiving activities. You proactively identify and resolve challenges while contributing to a collaborative and positive work environment. For This Role, You Will Need: High School Diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license. Strong basic math and recordkeeping skills. Ability to obtain forklift certification, including written, physical, and driving evaluations. Ability to use computers to assist with shipping and receiving activities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices. Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Familiarity with Odyssey.
