This hands-on role supports the employee experience across the full People Operations lifecycle, from onboarding and offboarding to payroll, benefits, and employee support. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day People processes while helping create efficient, scalable systems for a growing organization. As part of a lean People team, you’ll work closely with senior leadership and have meaningful influence over how People Operations evolves. The role combines operational execution with continuous process improvement, including opportunities to use AI and automation to reduce manual work. You’ll serve as a trusted resource for employees, handling questions and sensitive information with accuracy, discretion, and care. You’ll also contribute to the development and implementation of People systems, including future HRIS initiatives and workflow improvements. Accountabilities: Own the new hire onboarding experience from offer acceptance through the employee’s first days, including communications, pre-boarding coordination, and orientation. Manage and support core People Operations processes, including payroll processing, employee changes, offboarding, benefits administration, and employee inquiries. Serve as a first point of contact for questions related to pay, benefits, policies, and People processes, providing timely support and escalating complex matters when appropriate. Maintain accurate, accessible, and up-to-date FAQs, policy guides, documentation, and employee self-service resources. Handle confidential employee information with a high degree of discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism. Coordinate system access and equipment needs for new hires and departing employees, including laptop ordering and account provisioning or deprovisioning in partnership with IT. Maintain accurate employee records across the HRIS and related People systems. Troubleshoot basic access and systems issues and coordinate with IT on more complex technical needs. Identify opportunities to simplify and improve People Operations workflows through automation and AI-enabled tools. Partner with People leadership to pilot and implement new tools, processes, and workflows that improve operational efficiency and employee experience. Support future HRIS selection and implementation activities, including requirements gathering, employee data organization and migration, workflow testing, rollout, and adoption. Anticipate the evolving needs of the People function and proactively build scalable, repeatable processes that reduce manual work and support organizational growth. Manage EOR relationships and coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities across the Americas. Requirements: 4+ years of experience in People Operations, Human Resources, or a related field, ideally within a high-growth or early-stage startup environment. Hands-on experience across core People Operations functions, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee support, and HR systems. Experience working with HRIS platforms and People systems; experience supporting an HRIS implementation or migration is a plus. Experience managing Employer of Record (EOR) relationships and coordinating employee lifecycle processes across the Americas. Exceptional organization, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the interpersonal judgment needed to support employees effectively. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism. Comfortable working independently within a lean People team while managing multiple priorities and changing requirements. Adaptable and comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Curious about AI and automation, with a practical interest in using technology to simplify workflows, reduce repetitive work, and improve People Operations. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying operational improvements. Ability to balance reliable day-to-day execution with longer-term process and systems improvements.
