Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Financing) based in United States. This role sits within a high-impact Financing Engineering team focused on building the systems that support large-scale institutional lending operations. You will design, build, and scale critical backend services that safely manage billions of dollars across multiple financing products. The position directly supports leverage, lending, yield generation, trading activity, and recurring revenue within a sophisticated financial technology environment. You will own systems spanning loan lifecycle management, risk calculations, and real-time position tracking. The role combines distributed systems engineering, financial workloads, cloud-native technologies, and a strong focus on correctness and reliability. You will collaborate closely with Product, Risk, Operations, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions and strengthen operational resilience. This is a remote-first opportunity for a senior engineer who thrives on technically complex, high-stakes systems and measurable business impact. Accountabilities: Own the architecture, design, development, and production delivery of new financing products and features, ensuring correctness, safety, scalability, and reliability across high-value lending operations. Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and reusable frameworks that support loan lifecycle management, risk calculations, and real-time tracking of financial positions. Drive engineering excellence by improving developer tooling, testing infrastructure, monitoring, observability, and operational reliability across critical financing systems. Partner with Product, Risk, Operations, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable, well-defined technical solutions and deliver meaningful improvements each quarter. Lead technical initiatives focused on strengthening system resilience, reducing operational risk, improving engineering workflows, and enabling the team to ship safely at speed. Mentor engineers, contribute to technical design reviews, and promote high standards for code quality, system design, reliability, and engineering practices. Use generative AI responsibly with appropriate human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, quality, and measurable business outcomes. Requirements At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience, including production ownership of services supporting high-reliability or financial workloads. Proven experience designing, building, and scaling service-oriented architectures using Go, Java, or a comparable backend programming language. Strong background developing and operating distributed systems where correctness, availability, scalability, and data integrity are essential. Experience with relational databases, gRPC/Protobuf, observability tooling, and cloud-native development environments. Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, participate in design reviews, mentor engineers, and raise engineering and code-quality standards across a team. Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business functions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adopt generative AI tools thoughtfully while maintaining human oversight and applying sound engineering judgment to production-ready solutions.
