This is a fully remote opportunity with an established public accounting firm seeking an experienced accounting and tax professional. The role combines financial reporting, general accounting, tax preparation, and client-facing responsibilities. You will contribute to accurate financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close activities. You will also prepare individual and business tax returns while applying strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and tax requirements. The position offers meaningful autonomy and requires someone comfortable managing priorities in a distributed work environment. You will have direct opportunities to communicate with clients and support their accounting and tax needs. Accountabilities Prepare accurate financial statements, supporting schedules, and related accounting documentation. Record, review, and analyze adjusting journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. Prepare individual and business tax returns in accordance with applicable U.S. tax requirements. Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or unusual financial activity. Analyze financial information and provide accurate accounting support as needed. Support monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and complete financial reporting. Communicate directly with clients to address accounting and tax-related questions and requests. Manage assigned responsibilities independently while maintaining accuracy, organization, and adherence to deadlines. Contribute to a collaborative accounting environment and support the firm's long-term operational and team objectives. Requirements 3+ years of experience in public accounting, tax, or a closely related accounting environment. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification or active progress toward CPA licensure is preferred. Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles. Demonstrated experience preparing individual and business tax returns. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate financial reporting. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with limited supervision. Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when interacting with clients. Professional judgment, organization, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Benefits Competitive salary of $70,000–$90,000 USD , commensurate with experience.
