Position Summary The Lead Systems Architect serves as Vertiv’s senior technical authority for hyperscale, AI, and strategic customer infrastructure programs Own end-to-end system architecture across power, controls, energy storage, and thermal infrastructure Drive scalable, repeatable, and standards-compliant solutions that align with customer requirements and long-term technology roadmaps Influence technical strategy, product direction, and next-generation infrastructure platforms through deep systems expertise and executive engagement Roles & Responsibilities Lead system architecture for complex data center power and infrastructure solutions Serve as the primary technical architect for strategic and hyperscale customers Translate customer requirements into scalable system designs and reference architectures Drive technical decisions, trade studies, architecture reviews, and risk assessments Develop & drive portfolio prioritization strategies, integration strategies across power, controls, energy storage, cooling, and supporting infrastructure Partner with Technical Program Managers to ensure successful execution of architecture requirements Support major pursuits, proposals, solution positioning, and customer presentations and ensure alignment to business performance metrics Present architecture strategies, recommendations, and roadmaps to executive stakeholders Collaborate with sales, product management, engineering, quality, services, operations, manufacturing, and supply chain teams Influence technical direction across global matrixed organizations without direct authority Identify technology trends and customer needs to guide future platform development Support thought leadership through white papers, technical documentation, and reference architectures Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications Travel globally up to 30% to support customers, engineering teams, and strategic initiatives Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, or a related technical field 10+ years of experience in systems architecture, power systems, data center infrastructure, thermal management, or complex infrastructure environments Deep expertise in data center power systems and mission-critical infrastructure Strong knowledge of AC power, DC power, controls, energy storage, and data center technologies Experience developing end-to-end architectures across multiple products and technologies Proven ability to translate complex customer requirements into technical solutions Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, AI infrastructure, or mission-critical environments Demonstrated success performing architecture evaluations, trade studies, and risk assessments Strong customer-facing experience with executive and senior technical stakeholders Ability to present complex technical concepts to executive, customer, and engineering audiences Experience leading within large global and matrixed organizations Experience developing proposals, reference architectures, white papers, or technical documentation Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting hyperscale data center or AI infrastructure architectures Expertise spanning AC power, DC power, controls, energy storage, and thermal management Experience with liquid cooling, CDU infrastructure, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, or hydronic systems Knowledge of data center cooling, HVAC, thermal management, or refrigeration-adjacent infrastructure Familiarity with NEC, UL, IEEE, IEC, ISO, NFPA, ASHRAE, OCP, and related industry standards Experience influencing product roadmaps, platform strategy, and technology adoption Experience partnering with R&D on next-generation infrastructure solutions Recognized technical leadership through publications, customer advisory work, standards participation, or industry presentations Experience with engineering design tools, modeling tools, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms Advanced degree in Engineering, Systems Architecture, or a related technical discipline Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders #LI-DS1 The Lead
